Overview: The Shows of FCC Free Radio

FCC Free Radio is local broadcasting service that provides live streaming entertainment as well as archival podcasts. Among the many general talk shows and music programs the station hosts a number of comedian based podcasts. Each show has a similar format: talk related, community based, interview oriented and used as a promotional tool for the host and their guests. Each show is also largely identified by the curator, offering a specific, unique perspective for a couple of hours. Here’s the rundown of the comedy shows currently in rotation, the best quote to define the show, and a song that embodies what the show is about.

Listen, readers of Courting Comedy, this blog is nothing without the community around it. There are many producers, directors, show runners, promoters, artists, comics, comedy nerds, and fans that are the backbone of this here collection. One said contributor is Brian King whose credits on the scene include: Castagnola’s Wharf Room, the Weekly Writing group, appearances on FCC Free Radio, numerous beautiful photographs and a collection of funny moments, minutes, and mirages. For running Castagnola’s alone he’s to be commended because it gives so many a place to polish in place you could invite friends to. Also, the Walk the Plank competition was a huge success, further proving that Brian King is great hub in the San Francisco Comedy Scene (also kudos to Chantel Williams for Castagnola’s success, awesome lady). He’s also a stand-out guy, always nice and courteous to yours truly which I appreciate. So with all this unncessary babble I’d like wish a Happy Birthday to Dr. Brian King.
