Podcast: The Dork Forest w/ Jackie Kashian. Episode 192 w/ Kelly Anneken. Recorded at Lost Weekend Video. Download Link: Here. iTunes: Here. Official Link: Here.

Kelly Anneken (@thefatling on twitter) is a San Francisco stand up comic, the comedy curator over at Pandora Radio and enjoys a nice biography. A lot. She picked her current three favorite biographies (Hallie Flanagan, Madame de Stael and Cleopatra) and we go THROUGH them. In the midst we weed off talking about The Babysitter Club books and American Girl Doll books. It’s great.
Disclaimer: This episode was recorded LIVE at Lost Weekend Video in San Francisco http://www.lostweekendvideo.com/Lost_Weekend_Video/The_Cinecave!.html, and there wasn’t an audio guy. So you got ME. And Patrick did his best to mitigate how hot the recording was … but it’s a little buzzy. It’s a little Ruth Buzzi. Get it? And… sorry. It was too great to bail on… so consider it in “podcast glory.”

DONATE folk… I’m working over here. www.dorkforest.com or www.jackiekashian.com (which has T-shirts, CDs and Hooded Sweatshirts, my full stand up schedule and more info than you want). Email me if you have questions: jackie@jackiekashian.com

Watch some of the funniest comedians from San Francisco in an intimate environment, where they’ll be sporting their best threads while telling their best jokes."I wanted a way to combine a couple of my favorite things; fashion and comedy. I looked around at some fellow performers and thought, hey, I’m not alone in being excited to dress up to perform,” says producer/host Mary Van Note, “I ask each performer to wear their favorite outfit, and they’ll be brought on stage with details on what they’re wearing like a fashion show. When you think about it, some of the comedy greats have such iconic style; think Bill Cosby’s sweater or Woody Allen’s glasses, Eddie Murphy’s red leather suit or Phyllis Diller’s feathers. Style has always been a part of comedy, just not as noticed, and Comedy Stylings is a way to celebrate the jokes and the style.” In addition to great comedy each show features costume changes, a vintage pop-up shop and a makeover. That’s a lot of fun to be happening in a basement of a video store in the Mission.
