Our Little Theater in: San Leandro

  • Duat: Where are you from?
  • Young Lady: San Leandro.
  • Duat: San Leandro? That's bad. [To the tourists] San Leandro is for all the people too poor to live in Oakland.
  • Older Man: That IS bad.

Duat Mai by. Takeo Hope.

Duat is dope and it’s his birthday today. He’s one of those performers you hate to follow because he’s so good. He has a solid persona, so that off-hand comments get a laugh which forces the succeeding comedian to work that much harder. He’s also from my hometown Pittsburg, CA and is the first person I think about when I tell my childhood friends who they need to see in the City. I think he’s on the cusp of rocketing and I can’t wait to see what he does when his time comes. Happy Birthday Duat.
