In this second-ever live episode of The JV Club, first-ever returning guest Tig Notaro sits onstage with Janet at SF Sketchfest in San Francisco to discuss the events of her life since the last time they recorded together. What follows is a frank, intimate and emotional discussion… with a very liberal dose of laughter.

A chat with two former San Franciscans as Mary Van Note, stand-up comedian/sketch performer/vintage ambassador, speaks with Janet Varney, improviser/actress/curator/podcaster, about the JV Club, feminism, and “cool female friends” dearth.

"I was doing performance art at bars in San Francisco because I guess the comedy clubs were closing. So, there’d be something at "The Brainwash Cafe" or the "Chameleon" in the Mission… I remember there was this one transvestite poet and I was just fascinated! Like ‘You’re standing on stage, reading your poetry’ and I just loved it. But then Patton Oswalt would go up. But I didn’t know it was Patton, at that time I just thought, ‘Wait, What?’"
