Urban(e) Comedy is a brand new showcase featuring the top black comedians in the Bay Area that don’t fit the typical mold of most African American comics we see today.

Hosted by Lyall Behrens (SF Punchline, The Improv). With headliner Kevin Munroe (Cobb’s, worked with Tracy Morgan),Kaseem Bentley (voted “Best Racial Humor You’re Not Afraid To Laugh At” by SF Weekly), Karinda Dobbins (performed stand up on Nickelodeon, opened for W. Kamu Bell) and cast of up and comers.

SF Comedy Cellar has a happy hour that goes untill 9:00 PM with $3 wells and draft beers.

7/7. Haters Gonna Hate [Heckler’s Ball] @ 222 Hyde St. 8PM. $5. Featuring David Nguyen, Trevor Hill, Kaseem Bentley, Roman Leo and Kevin Munroe. Hosted by Josef Anolin.

“Haters Gonna Hate” is an experimental showcase format that mixes a bit of Doug Benson’s “The Benson Interruption” with “Chappelle’s Show’s” Haterz Ball sketch or “Tough Crowd w/ Colin Quinn.” 

Essentially: Comics are going to hate on their fellow comics as they try to tell you jokes. 

The Funniest overall performer will be decided by YOU, the audience and walks away with… we don’t know yet, but hopefully something good. 

Unfortunately, Dan Wilson and Chris Riggins who are advertised on the flyer are unable to attend. However, we were able to find some very funny and suitable replacements.
