7/7. Haters Gonna Hate [Heckler’s Ball] @ 222 Hyde St. 8PM. $5. Featuring David Nguyen, Trevor Hill, Kaseem Bentley, Roman Leo and Kevin Munroe. Hosted by Josef Anolin.

"Haters Gonna Hate" is an experimental showcase format that mixes a bit of Doug Benson’s "The Benson Interruption" with "Chappelle’s Show’s" Haterz Ball sketch or "Tough Crowd w/ Colin Quinn." Essentially: Comics are going to hate on their fellow comics as they try to tell you jokes. The Funniest overall performer will be decided by YOU, the audience and walks away with… we don’t know yet, but hopefully something good. Unfortunately, Dan Wilson and Chris Riggins who are advertised on the flyer are unable to attend. However, we were able to find some very funny and suitable replacements. Our line-up:David NguyenKaseem Bentley Trevor HillRoman LeoFeature Act: Kevin MunroeHosted & Produced by: Josef Anolin $5 for the 21+ Hope you can make it!

5/28. W. Kamau Bell Farewell Show @ Stage Werx. 446 Valencia St. SF. $10. 7PM. Featuring Kevin Camia, Kaseem Bentley, Nato Green, Karinda Dobbins, Dave Thomason and more. Tickets Available: Here

W. Kamau Bell, one of The San Francisco Bay Area’s Best Comedians, headlines a comedy showcase & says goodbye to his adopted hometown in his last local appearance before moving to NYC to star in a late night talk show for FX that will be produced by Chris Rock.

In his last SF show Kamau assembles some of his absolute favorite Bay Area comedians in order to let his hometown friends and fans know that they will be fine without him… for at least a little while.

Kamau will host the show and headline it. And also he is doing this so that his mom can see him perform while she is in town. Don’t let him disappoint his mom.

Featuring…

Kevin Camia (from Comedy Central & the CD “Kindness”)

Kaseem Bentley (Recently named by SF Weekly “Best Racial Humor You Don’t Feel Guilty Laughing At”)

Nato Green (Iron Comic & Laughter Against The Machine)

Karinda Dobbins (Jabari Davis & Associates, Comedy SuperPAC, Comedy Bodega)

Dave Thomason (Silver Nail Award Winner, National Comedy Competition)

Other acts to be announced soon!

Afterward hang out and say goodbye to Kamau… Or ask him for that money that he owes you before he blows SF for the last time… for now.

[I’d like to take this opportunity to say thank you to the readers of this blog. The notoriety and momentum of this experiment/experience is as yours as it is mine. Thank you to the San Francisco Bay Area comedy community for being the best comedy scene in the country (as far as I know), thanks to the Internet for keeping everything scattered and revelatory, thanks to Dana Sitar whom I’m sure had a hand in my humble embarrassment for the last few days, thanks to Emily Heller for inspiring CC’s inception (see: Sex Talk With Kaseem), thanks to David Cairns for saving Courting Comedy, and thanks to all those that deserve it (artist, photographers, producers, luminaries, content creators, dreamers, hustlers, and champions). While the anniversary is a month away, I look forward to YEAR THREE with pride and humility. - O.J.]
