On Thursday, August 9th, no less than FIVE (cinco) of the best geek-oriented comics in the Bay area will come together for one amazing night of stand up comedy. These five, their brains are packed with video games, manga, anime, science fiction, bad horror movies, technology, pop culture, the sheer horror of dating and anything else that happens to be bouncing around in their frontal lobes, will bring you 90 minutes of funny as if their lives depended on it.

You are cordially invited to the Sylvan Showcase, a one-of-a-kind comedy carnaval in the heart of downtown Oakland. Hosted by OJ Patterson (he knows), the Sylvan Showcase provides ample introduction to the greater Bay Area comedy community. Following each act, a cool interview provides further jokes, elaboration and entertainment. 

This week’s spotlight performers:

Chris Burns (Sophisticated, sarcastic, sass).

Also, accompanying the merrymaking is of course: you. All comedians, hobbyist, amateur or professional, are welcome to participate limited open mic happening from 7:00-8:15pm. Sign-up: 6:30pm. 

Of course, Vitus wouldn’t be Vitus without the food, drinks and pinball, available in abundance. Free show, cheap food, and cheap drinks is a no brainer.
