djrealsmells:

DJ REAL will be performing at Mary Van Note’s Living Room Countdown Show, along with Kevin Avery, Anita Driesberg, and others! Check it out tonight at 10:30pm (PST) on ustream.tv.

I saw this and I lit up like fireworks. This is one of the greatest things ever. I can’t… I just…

ALGEBRAIC!

[ On her official blog, Mary Van Note gives eleven picks of great comedians whom aren’t necessarily in the limelight (yet). A lot of local love, and video clips of some brilliant bits. Click the link to find out more. ]

New Years Eve: Marga Gomez NYE Spectacular @ Victoria Theater. 2961 16th St. 7 & 9 PM. $30-$35. Featuring Casey Ley & Natasha Muse. Tickets: HERE.
(This show is automatically incredible. Over the last year I’ve been a huge fan of Marga, its been through her shows that I’ve heard the most important comedy in the city. I also got to have fun amid the seriousness [Cafe Du Nord Dance Champion]. Marga supports the best, young comedians in the city and thus it’s imperative that you support her. In addition to Marga Gomez you have Casey Ley and Natasha Muse, two in the upper echelon of humor. Ley comes with perspective challenging delivery and Muse takes the biggest puny risks whilst commanding each and every audience members from the fans to the hecklers.)

UPDATE
The East has been unkind in the way of snow, and unfortunately Mr. Casey Ley is succumbing to the tundra. Still, awesome show in the SOMA tonight.

In addition to the half dozen shows I’ve discussed here, here, and here, Janine Brito, Dwayne Kennedy and W. Kamau Bell will be performing this New Years Eve @ The Phoenix Theater. I would provide more information but these shows are sold out. Still, this show is particularly noteworthy because Dwayne Kennedy is a Chicago stand-up legend who hasn’t been in the Bay Area in a while. Check out the article on Janine.
