"I would be raped in prison. They would rape me faster than I could say ‘Please don’t rape me’."

Tonight: Jabari Davis and Associates @ The Purple Onion. 140 Columbus Ave. SF. 8 PM. $20. 18+. Featuring Jesse McGrath, Nick Padilla, Imran G, Kelly Anneken, Frankie Quinones and headliner Bryan Moore. Hosted by Tony Sparks. Blessed by Jabari Davis.
[This show is noteworthy for a number of reasons. This is the start of this month’s Jabari Davis and Associates festivities. It also is an uber promising line-up; I know each of these artists and respect their work immensely. Lastly, this marks the first Purple Onion performance of my high school friend, Jesse McGrath. I was there for his first set: a scary, crack head laden experience at 800 Larkin in the Tenderloin. Since then, he’s matured to the formidable comedian I knew he could be. And like always, it’s about to be bananas.]
