James Fluty and Trevor Hill present Hand to Mouth: a monthly, topic-based comedy show where each edition explores a specific social, cultural or political issue. One show, one topic.
Junes’s Topic: The Internet!
On June 7th, comedians Joe Klocek (Comedy Central), Caitlin Gill (The Business), Natasha Muse (Cobb’s), Jabari Davis (Caroline’s), Red Scott (SF Sketchfest) and Matt Lieb (Mission Position) will join James and Trevor in providing the LOLs, LMAOs, ROFLs and PCP. Actually maybe not the last one.
Also featuring a special musical performance from geek-rock duo: Kessel Run.
Hand to Mouth: The Internet Friday, June 7th @ 10:00PM The Dark Room (2263 Mission St.) Cover: $5 Advance. $8 at the Door.
Fanart for one of my favorite podcasts, Boars, Gore and Swords, a Game of Thrones recap podcast hosted by comedians Red Scott and Ivan Hernandez. One of the reasons I’m most excited about season 3 of GoT is the return of these two guys discussing/making fun of the show, with frequent tangents onto topics such as comic books, Trader Joes, and Aaron Sorkin.
(Everything in this picture makes sense if you listen to the podcast.)
1/3. Storking Comedy @ Stork Club. 2330 Telegraph Ave. Oakland. 6:30pm-9:00pm. Free. Featuring Matt Lieb, Kate Willett, Eric Barry and Red Scott. Open Mic Sign Ups: 6:00pm. Hosted by OJ Patterson
You are cordially invited to Storking Comedy, a one-of-a-kind comedy show in the heart of downtown Oakland. Hosted by OJ Patterson (no relation), Storking Comedy features amazingly funny local comedians working on their craft. Following each act, an interview with the host provides in depth elaboration coupled with ribbing rapport.
Our first spotlight performers:
Kate Willett (Endearing deadpan, awkward martyr “The Mission Position”) Eric Barry (Hyperaware, post-irony, slickster “Full Disclosure Podcast”) Matt Lieb (Wordsmith, Candid, Subversive, “The Mission Position”) and special guest Red Scott (Confident mockery, classic, “Boars Gore and Swords”)
Also, accompanying the merrymaking is of course: you. All comedians, hobbyist, amateur or professional, are welcome to participate limited open mic happening from 6:30-8:00pm. Sign-up: 5:45pm.
Of course, Stork Club wouldn’t be the Stork Club without the awesomely cheap drinks and pinball, available in abundance. Free show, raucous atmosphere and cheap drinks = no brainer.
So come, relax, hang out, participate, get involved and get in to it.
[The Stork Club has no show afterwards so the open-mic is ostensibly limited less. We’re going til we run out of jokers.]
