2/26. Marcella Arguello Debut CD Recording @ Luna’s Cafe. 1414 16th St. 8pm. Sacramento.

[This bell will rung time and time again, not just by this blog, but, by the comedy community at large. Twitter will flitter, praise will raise until seemingly blasé, and bells will chime time after time for Marcella Arguello. Marcella is INSANELY important. Her success if your success, because she evokes everything good in comedy with an ever-expanding heart. I believe in Marcella, and I believe you should support her as she crafts her first album in a couple weeks in Sacramento. Please spread the word. Thanks.]

Sheng Wang will record his comedy album here Feb 19-22! #sanfrancisco #nottobemissed #415

[Sheng Wang should be way more famous. He’s already talented, respected, admired, credited and as close as one could get to being truly original. Still, despite all these things, I don’t hear enough casual praise, I don’t see enough t-shirts, I don’t feel that Sheng Wang is the cultural force he could be. Sure, some people can coax as the baddest muthafucka whose been stepped on twice (see: Robert Hawkins) but I’m personally looking forward to this album recording, one more step on the road to immortality.]

Broad City, my favorite new show/duo/friends, is coming to SF (Great American Music Hall) on 3/28.

thecomedybureau:

From Philadelphia to Chicago to Austin to Denver to Seattle to LA and so many other places in between and beyond, Ilana Glazer and Abbi Jacobson of Broad City are touring live throughout the U.S.

As far as comedy tours go these days, that’s pretty extensive and it leaves little reason to not catch one of these shows (i.e. they’re really funny and one of the cities on the tour is probably reasonably close to you)

With the recent addition of our international producer, Alex Rock, Picture This! has also debuted in Toronto, New Zealand and Australia! The comedians don’t know what the animators are drawing and the animators don’t know how the comedians will react. It may be weird. It may different. But it will be a unique comedy experience every time!

1/21-23. Kris Tinkle CD Recording @ San Francisco Punch Line. 444 Battery St. SF. 8pm. $15. featuring Julian Vance and Caitlin Gill. Tickets Available: Here. Goldstar: Here.

Kris Tinkle is good. Really good. Great in fact. I really enjoyed his debut album, released five-ish years ago. He’s a working class, to the point, quintessential comedian that developed into a regional headliner before uprooting to New York City a while ago. His style — bombastic and lewd, yet personal and deprecating — favors the weekend “fun” crowd, and he’s never been fully embraced as a media darling. Still, Kris Tinkle is very funny and someone to lend ears, eyes and support this week at the Punchline.
