[Aside from being a regional native, an unrivaled critical darling, a mid-1990s SF comedy luminary, unapologetically unflappable in her career trajectory , and unencumbered by the politics of modern show business, Karen Kilgariff is absolutely hilarious. It’s amazing that she’ll be performing in SF’s cradle of indie comedy, and it’ll be deplorable for you to miss this show and call yourself a fan of comedy that matters. Do not sleep on Karen Kilgariff.]
Ian Karmel is a comedian whose style zig-zags between the eclectic and the universal, appealing both to crowds who own homes in the suburbs, and crowds just staying with their parents in the suburbs until they figure some things out. Coming from an improv background, including time with The Groundlings and the Upright Citizens Brigade, Ian entered the world of stand-up with a unique perspective that helped him win the 2011 Funniest Person in Portland, 2010 Portland Amateur Comedy Competition and has given him the opportunity to perform at the Bridgetown Comedy Festival, Bumbershoot, Austin’s Moontower Comedy and Oddity Fest, Portland’s Helium Comedy Club, Philadelphia’s Helium Comedy Club, Austin’s Cap City Comedy Club, Seattle’s Comedy Underground and Los Angeles’ Comedy Store. In addition to stand-up, Karmel has appeared on television, playing a character in IFC’s sketch show Portlandia and as a post-game analyst and commentator for the Portland Trailblazers. Since moving to LA from Portland, he is now a writer/performer on Chelsea Lately.

Will Weldon is a comedian who currently resides in Los Angeles, CA. He has performed at the comedy festivals Bridgetown, Riot LA, and Just for Laughs, and has been written about in a number of comedy publications only read by those who are hoping their name appears in a comedy publication. He’s pretty funny.
Also featuring Sean Keane Hosted By George Chen & Kevin O’Shea!
[I love Will Weldon. He’s the definition of proto-breaktrhough, analogous to a sure-fire start-up, with more “underground” buzz than a vibrating suppository. This is a highly recommended show because it’s a hell-of-a-lot more expensive to see this rising star a couple of years from now at the Punch Line. Also, I hear he’s hella good a Tetris]
CYNIC CAVE LIVE RECORDING SCHEDULE FOR BURGER RECORDS COMPILATION
The standup comedy series that began in the basement of the beloved Mission District video store Lost Weekend has expanded to a comedy album. Co-producers George Chen and Kevin O’Shea join forces with San Francisco musician Garett Goddard and Burger Records to document the weekly Cynic Cave showcase on classic cassette format! The recording sessions will be happening every Saturday in September highlighting a select group of Bay Area comedians.
Started in July 2012, The Cynic Cave is arguably the best time you’ll have in a video store in the Mission all year. We just celebrated one year of existence which has included sets from comedians around the world and guest sets from the likes of Bobcat Goldthwait and W. Kamau Bell.
Here’s a calendar of the upcoming recordings happening at Cynic Cave in September for this recording series.
