Podcast: WTF w/ Marc Maron. Episode 478. Featuring Karen Kilgariff. Download Link: Here. iTunes Link: Here. Official Link: Here.

Comedian Karen Kilgariff (Native) is no longer the person Marc remembers from their days in San Francisco, which is a good thing because back then she was battling some real demons. Karen tells Marc about the twists her career has taken since then and sings some songs to boot. Also, Bob Saget pops into the garage to compare notes on memoir writing with Marc.

[Two WTFPod posts in like three days? OJ, you’ve lost your touch. FUCK YOU, ME! I love Karen Kilgariff and this is MUST LISTEN material for anybody who’s trying to get cliqued up with the real and raw. Listen to this, you illegitimate children!]

Podcast: WTF w/ Marc Maron. Episode 472. Featuring Laurie Kilmartin. Download Link: Here. iTunes Link: Here. Official Link: Here.

Comedian Laurie Kilmartin (Native) writes dozens of jokes daily for Conan O’Brien, but she has no problem jumping into some serious material in the garage with Marc. Laurie discusses her struggles with an eating disorder, her transition from a road comic to a steady television writer, and the challenges of a single mom working in show business.

[One of my favorite podcasts ever. Extremely personal and necessary. Tons of Bay references and a great prelude to the transcendent Twitter activity from Laurie earlier this year. Catch this one before it goes into the archives.]

Here’s a Small Taste of Patton Oswalt’s Tragedy Plus Comedy Equals Time

thecomedybureau:

Patton Oswalt (SF90s)'s latest comedy special Tragedy Plus Comedy Equals Time is coming to Epix on Jan. 17th. It’s been a few years since Finest Hour, which is why we’re excited for this to come out and also wonder the other forms of that comedy equation (i.e. Time Minus Comedy Equals Tragedy, Tragedy Minus Time Plus Comedy Equals Zero, etc. etc.)

For now, just watch this preview on what the state flag of Florida should be.

[The world is always enriched by Patton Oswalt’s brilliance. I’m always late to watching comedy specials but I’m going to make sure to seek this one out.]

[Aside from being a regional native, an unrivaled critical darling, a mid-1990s SF comedy luminary, unapologetically unflappable in her career trajectory , and unencumbered by the politics of modern show business, Karen Kilgariff is absolutely hilarious. It’s amazing that she’ll be performing in SF’s cradle of indie comedy, and it’ll be deplorable for you to miss this show and call yourself a fan of comedy that matters. Do not sleep on Karen Kilgariff.]
