Made in China is an original musical about a child-like up-and-coming postman, Max, who must deliver a mysterious music box to an address that doesn’t exist. In a moment of curiosity, Max shakes the box, and a house magically appears along with Amber, the girl of his dreams. Backed by a live 6-piece chamber orchestra, Made in China’s melody-driven songs and quirky humor will engage you in an exciting adventure of what it’s like to think and act like a kid, again.

The play is directed by Nick Dickson, choreographed by Alexandra Daily, produced by Nicholas Weinbach, DL Soares, and Clinton Winder and features a charming, all-star cast and a live six-piece orchestra that includes two violins, cello, flute, percussion, and piano.

As you should already know by now, SF Sketchfest returns January 24th for it’s 12th iteration of being one of the WORLD’S premier comedy festivals. The awesomeness therein contained certainly makes this site’s job easier, and the fest’s history is a gold mine for blog-ammunition. But we’re going to take our time, we’re going to make it romantic, we’re going to spend time Courting Sketchfest. So, for the next 40 DAYS I shall be highlighting the locals, loaners, and longshots with a keen eye on the underdog while give props to the top.

Kurt Weitzmann, who founded such Bay Area sketch groups as Nervous Laughter and the SF Weekly parody SF Weakly, takes on the Bay Area in this special holiday edition of his comedy show, Hysterical Historical San Francisco. Weitzmann has been performing stand-up since 1987, appearing on Comedy Central, MTV, The Vancouver Comedy Festival and in San Francisco’s Sketchfest. In addition to his album Talented, Weitzmann wrote and directed the film Last Call. In this stand-up show, Weitzmann turns to his city for inspiration, poking fun at everything from the Barbary Coast to Haight-Ashbury (and every neighborhood in between).

Clayton and Gomes (Ash Clayton and Justin Gomes) have been t.v.’s favorite buddy cop duo for over a decade winning two Daytime Emmy’s, and a McGredy for best comedy action show. They’re respected veterans and true masters of their craft, every guy wants to be them and every lady wants to have private lady-and-guy time with ‘em. Consequently, 

The Chief is always giving them the weirdest and most difficult cases. In the season finale, Clayton and Gomes run into their most difficult case yet; an invisible murderer?!
