9/2. Star Trek Live: The Way to Eden (Opening Day) @ Dark Room Theater. SF. 2263 Mission St. $20. 8 PM.

Space: the final frontier. The Enterprise has been given a brand new mission, to seek out new life and civilization, so they can get down with the Federation! Yes Sci-Fi fans, pandemonium reigns when a bunch of “Space Hippies” beam on to the Enterprise and cause trouble, exercise free love and play that damn rock and roll that is corrupting kids even centuries from now! Come and be one with us as we gleefully pay homage to this anachronistic original episode, dripping with overly wrought metaphors and lame social commentary! As our favorite halfblooded Vulcan would say, it will be fascinating.

Tonight: The Last Airbender via Bad Movie Night @DarkRoomTheater. 2263 Mission St. 8 PM. $5. Featuring Mike, Sherilyn, and Dan.
[Bad Movie Night at the Dark Room is reportedly like an interactive Mystery Science Theater. I used to do similar antics at my college. From experience I can tell you it’s fun on a sponge cake.]
